Freeform Style: Crochet and Knit Freeform
Based on the book Freeform Style by Prudence Mapstone and Jonelle Raffino, this is a good introduction to freeform crochet and knitting. Most of the project will be in crochet, but some knitting experience would be nice.
Take a simple scarf and learn to embellish with the basics of freeform crochet and knitting. This class is not meant to overwhelm students with tons of motifs and stitches that is the usual case with freeform classes, but to talk about ideas and learn how color and a few well placed motifs can turn a simple idea into something unique and fun.
AS AN ADDED BONUS: All students will get an autographed copy of FREEFORM STYLE by Jonelle Beck and Prudence Mapstone. This is a $30 value!
It is critical that you bring a plain finished scarf to use as the base for your project.
Materials you should bring:
At least three different color complimenting yarns, various size hooks and needles.
One color should be used to make an 8” X 50” scarf that should be completed before class.
We will have an assortment of SWTC yarns in a range of colors available for you to play with during class. This will give you some wonderful additions to your project and its always fun to play in someone elses stash!
Note on homework: Since it is only a 3 hour class, students that do not have their scarves completed may not get the full benefit of the class. Scarves can be knit or crochet and if a pattern is needed, one will be provided in each method.
This class is taught by Pinka Peck, an independent teacher. Groupons cannot be used for this class. Sorry.
